It’s no secret that high-tier rare gear is highly sought after in any season of Diablo 4, as, at least in theory, their presence determines how optimized your build is and how good your endgame is. Right now, the most sought-after items in Diablo 4 are without a doubt Mythic Uniques.
To be honest, Mythic Uniques were actually quite plentiful in Season 5, but they’ve become much less common in Season 6. If you’re stockpiling Diablo 4 Gold and materials and Resplendent Spark to craft the rarest Mythic Uniques, you might want to take a look at the current status of these Mythic Uniques, as they change and evolve with each season.
In this guide, we’ll talk about the current Mythic Unique rankings in Diablo 4 Season 6 to help you choose the best unique items and build the most powerful unique build possible!
D-Tier
Let’s start with the absolute worst. There are currently 12 Mythic Unique items in Diablo 4, and a third of them are basically completely unused. They are not really power buffs in any build. So there is not much point in ranking them against each other. Honestly, all of these items need at least some redesign to be useful in the future.
Melted Heart Of Selig
First up is Melted Heart of Selig, which helps you gain 30% of your maximum resources. Additionally, when you take damage, 3-8 resources are consumed for every 1% of health you lose.
Essentially, this Unique Amulet allows you to use your resource pool as a barrier or secondary health bar, drastically reducing the damage you take. However, this is not very useful in a resource-based build. Not to mention that its main use case is to help you reach immortality, but all of the best builds reach near immortality even without this amulet. And their actual power cap is determined by damage, so using the amulet slot for defense is a big disadvantage.
Ahavarion, Spear Of Lycander
Then we have Ahavarion, Spear of Lycander. Honestly, this unique staff is fun, but it’s completely unused by the class that could use it again. This is simply because the slot is so important.
It’s the double-potency Legendary Aspect slot that replaces the unique weapon, but its actual effect is simply not worth it. So, at least until it’s fixed, it’s only really a negative to spend the time and extra Diablo 4 Gold to roll that effect.
Shattered Vow
Also included in this grouping is Shattered Vow, which is currently available to Spiritborn, Barbarian and Druid. Its main benefit is that it allows you to apply Berserking effect to non-Barbarians, but its actual effect is simply not enough to justify it being in the two-handed weapon slot.
The two-handed weapon slot usually has a damage multiplier of over 100% for most builds, and this weapon is nowhere near that, despite being a Mythic Unique weapon. If these classes had a better build based on pure sustained damage, it could have some potential use, but that’s not the case right now. Even if you were to do that, every single one of these builds currently has better options for the two-handed weapon slot than it. This is certainly sad.
Nesekem, The Herald
Moving on to the next Mythic Unique, Nesekem, the Herald, which is currently a Diablo 4 unique item exclusive to Spiritborn Class. However, it is absolutely not worth using for Spiritborn right now. This item allows you to randomly mark a nearby enemy every 5 seconds, marking them vulnerable and your attacks on them are guaranteed to deal critical hits and suppression. However, hitting a marked enemy 10 times removes their mark, and the next mark won’t be applied until the timer ends.
Anyway, that last sentence completely ruins this item. Because the limitation of this item was originally supposed to be that it could only mark one target, so ideally it would rely on your creativity to take the damage of a single target and have it reverberate outward into greater damage based on the initial enemy you hit, which should have been the limiting factor of the weapon. But the effect it has now makes it a joke.
We all know that almost every Spiritborn build wants to hit quickly, so there is no reason to hit less than two times per second. So this means you will be clearing marks very quickly and won’t be getting new ones for a few seconds, which makes it basically pointless.
C-Tier
Next, let’s take a look at some useful, but somewhat niche Mythic Uniques. They are worth your Diablo 4 Gold investment, but there will always be better options to replace them. Of course, if you are a big fan of them, then that’s another story.
Tyrael’s Might
Starting off with Tyrael’s Might, this is a great transitional Mythic Unique item that is great for getting you from Expert to Penitent. Because it solves your resistance issues and gives you a ton of survivability to help you settle in.
But the thing is, there are now more ways to help you work towards Item Power breakpoints, and survivability is no longer an issue when not using this Chest Armor piece. So this item does have its place, and it has its time, but it is currently quite niche because of these factors.
Andariel’s Visage
After that we have Andariel’s Visage, which has also been affected quite a bit in Diablo 4 Season 6, both because of the stat squish itself in terms of actual damage output, and because of the presence of a new, better Mythic Unique option. Still, it’s an interesting item that has its uses, and some builds like it, but it’s very limited compared to before.
B-Tier
Then we have those really good items that maybe aren’t the best item for every class, but are ideal for some powerful builds.
Harlequin Crest
First up is Harlequin Crest, an item that used to have a higher status, and it’s still the best helm for many builds to this day. But generally speaking, these aren’t the top builds of this season. Usually it’s used to fill holes and other aspects of the setup, like armor stacking or cooldown reduction, and then the extra skill level isn’t bad either. In terms of pure offense, at least for the actual top builds that are currently playing, it’s generally used more than every Mythic mentioned so far.
But it’s not the best Mythic Unique Helm for most builds. This is because we have always had better options, especially for Barbarian.
Doombringer
Barbarian has a weapon slot available to make the most of it, and that is Doombringer, which converts a lot of extra max life into a lot of extra Overpower damage.
Grandfather
Doombringer is often paired with Grandfather Mythic Unique two-handed Sword, which not only greatly increases your crit damage but also gives you a lot of extra max life. So this again greatly converts to crit and Overpower damage for Barbarian.
These two items are really only used on Barbarian, so you should weigh them a little. But there is no denying that they are very powerful, especially used in the right build.
A-Tier
Next we will look at some A-Tier Mythic Uniques, basically these items are used by at least half of the class in their best builds.
Ring Of Starless Skies
Ring of Starless Skies is an incredible item. It is a ring with double elemental resistance on Implicit Affixes. It has a high rolling crit chance, which is really useful for a lot of builds.
What’s more, it has an effect that both increases your damage and reduces resource costs by 50%. So this has insane potential value. There’s basically no downside to using this for any resource-based build. Some builds will even come up with creative ways to weave core skills or resource spending into a build that isn’t normally resource-based just to include this item in it for the bonus, which clearly shows how powerful it is.
Heir Of Perdition
After that we have the new best Mythic Unique Helm, Heir of Perdition. This helm has an extra 200% added damage to demons, but this isn’t permanent and it doesn’t affect every fight. It normally has a lucky hit chance on a high roll. It has the crit chance on a high roll and a bonus level of a core skill at the helm, plus movement speed as a bonus. But it essentially just permanently deals 60% more damage for every type of damage you could possibly deal.
Anyway, Heir of Perdition is a helm, which means all the offensive benefits from affixes and effects replace one normal defense slot. So a 60% damage multiplier from the defense slot, plus all the affixes on it, this is simply the second best Mythic Unique in Diablo 4.
S-Tier
Finally, let’s take a look at a Mythic Unique that you should definitely pick up. That will become the one that your build is destined to be with its excellent effects and power. That’s Shroud of False Death.
Shroud of False Death
Shroud of False Death is a Chest Armor with a lot of offensive potential. To be honest, the general affixes on the item are not a big deal in most cases, and the unique effect itself is a bit inconsequential, but it gives you +800 max life, and increases the damage of your next attack by 333% after entering stealth.
Add to that a level one of all passives, and this exact value will, of course vary per class as you have different passives. For Spiritborn this is a >90% damage multiplier, and it also includes a ton of utility, such as over 30% damage reduction, which is a tremendous bonus from a normal defense position.
For most classes, it also provides some harder to quantify utility or comfort bonuses that have a big impact on actual gameplay. The fact that five of the six best class builds use it speaks volumes about that. So you can have no doubt that Shroud of False Death is the best item in all Diablo 4 classes, and as long as you buy Diablo 4 Gold in advance, then this item must be the one you want to craft first.
Outro
So that’s my ranking of every Mythic Unique currently in Diablo 4, and how they stack up against each other for maximum effectiveness in Season 6. Obviously, it depends on your chosen class, but we tried to make them as generally applicable as possible, and took into account how many classes use each of these to get the best builds. Anyway, hopefully this guide has been helpful and gives you an idea of which best Mythic Unique to aim for next for your build!
